Welcome to YPG!

The Young Professionals Group of Los Angeles (YPG) was established in 2001 and is a membership organization of young professional men and women.  YPG offers volunteer and fundraising activities in support of Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children , while also providing members with social and networking opportunities.

Our mission is to empower young men and women to serve the Los Angeles homeless community. We demonstrate our commitment through fundraising and volunteer activities while offering our members social networking opportunities.

We are consultants, lawyers, stay-at-home moms, television producers, social workers, investment managers and teachers. We are men and women in our 20’s and 30’s and represent all faiths and ethnicities. Despite the diversity of backgrounds, personal interests, and professions, we are brought together by the common goal of helping Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children through activities of the Young Professionals Group.

Members are not only interested in enriching their professional and social lives through YPG membership, but also dedicate their time, experience and skills to enrich the lives of the women and children who walk through the doors of Good Shepherd Center.

Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children is a non-sectarian program dedicated to empowering women and their children to move from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Good Shepherd Center provides food, clothing, shelter, job placement and training, and supportive services to more than 900 women and children every year through its comprehensive programs.

Through fundraising events, individual donations, and corporate grants, the YPG has helped to raise over $200,000 in support of Good Shepherd Center’s operations. Additionally, YPG members have collectively donated thousands of volunteer hours, helping to make a real difference in our city and in the lives of women and children in need.

The YPG is governed by an Executive Committee, which meets monthly and includes YPG members who each serve a one-year term. Executive Committee Chairs work with subcommittees to implement YPG events and projects.
